Hi everyone.
Sorry I’ve been away for a while. Work has been a bit hectic and I finally took some time to take a little vacation with the family. But, I’m back now and I’m feeling good and positive about everything (despite the allergic reaction to the chlorine in the hotel pool… now I’m stuck wearing a eye patch for a few days like I am Nick Fury… wish I could pull the eye patch look off like him, but oh well.)
Anyway, It’s been a little over a month since by debut novel Prelude to Destiny: Awakening was released. During the pre-launch and the first month I’ve gone through FIVE (yes five) different book covers. I’ve been testing them out with different ads and platforms to see which one performs the best and I think I have a winner.
This is the cover that has had the best response and the one I think has more of an Urban Fantasy vibe to it. I came across the website www.SelfPubBookCovers.com one day as I was sitting at work bored to tears because the system was down.
This cover immediately stood out to me. It had all the elements I wanted in a cover. The girl almost looks like how I think Rhea, one of my protagonists, should look. There is the mysterious book that Rhea finds while going through her mother’s old chest. And there’s the lightning bolt that is a pretty significant aspect of my story. It was pretty much perfect even though it was a pre-made cover.
