Happy Tuesday, everyone.
I am overwhelmed by the feedback I’ve received on my first novel Prelude to Destiny: Awakening. It’s hard to describe the feeling I get when I find out that someone truly enjoys what I’ve created.
I actually finished writing Awakening in the Spring 2013. I had planned to publish it later that year, but something happened that threw my life out of whack. My father suffered a tragic accident that left him a paraplegic. That accident shook me and my family to the core. We have always been a close family, but that experience brought us even closer as we cared for my dad and encouraged one another.
Sadly, my father passed away this past February. I haven’t shared this with anyone, but one of the last things I discussed with him prior to his passing was my novel. He was on a ventilator and it was sometimes hard to read his lips, but he asked me about my book and told me he wanted me to read it to him. I promised him I would bring it with me the following Saturday. I never got the chance to read him my book. He passed away that next Saturday.
Now every time someone tells me they enjoyed by book it makes me think of my dad and how proud he would be of me. My first book is dedicated to him. Every book I write will be dedicated to him in my heart, even if not on paper.
